Laura Davenport

London-wide Assembly candidate No.6

As an Assembly Member Laura would prioritise the scrutiny of Transport for London and the London Development Agency.

She has spent much of the past two years challenging Ken Livingstone, Transport for London and Enfield Council regarding future North Circular Road developments. Laura's experience is that Ken says one thing but does something very different.

She says, 'The A406 road scheme will pull down social housing, bulldoze local businesses and force traffic off the main road on to residential roads, this goes against everything Ken ever promises us. The scheme doesn't provide us with what we need but will cost us a fortune'.

With more and more people moving into London waste is a massive problem and has to be prioritised. Laura wants to push for a massive co-ordinated programme across London to reduce and re-use waste. She says, 'incineration pollutes and landfill sites are running out, the GLA needs to get to grips with this ever mounting problem'.

There are thousands of people working hard in London but once the mortgage or rent has been paid there is little left over to enjoy this beautiful and vibrant city. As an Assembly Member Laura would begin by pushing TfL to refurbish and let to the social sector the thousands of homes TfL own across London rather than sell them off. Londoners deserve an Assembly that listens to them, acts for them and makes sure we got value for money. Laura is committed to getting the very best for the people of London.
