Dr Shahrar Ali
Shahrar Ali is Policy coordinator for the London Green Party. He has worked as a researcher in the European Parliament and is an adviser to Greens in City Hall.
Shahrar Ali was lead author of the 2008 Green Manifesto for London.
In 2008, Shahrar Ali contested the London Assembly seat of Brent and Harrow. His vote increased by 45% in four years to 10,129.
Shahrar is a candidate for the European Parliament London region in 2009.
London Campaigns
Shahrar Ali has lived and worked in London most of his adult life. He has been working alongside elected Greens, campaigners and residents to:
- Oppose ignorant Heathrow expansion plans
- Confront unjust stop-and-search methods
- Highlight the danger to pedestrians from unsafe roads
- Promote locally produced food instead of supermarkets
- Challenge media bias in Broadcasting Gaza - Press release and Letter.
