Worcester City Council will be run by a committee system from May 2017

30 November 2016

At City Council on 22nd November it was agreed by 19 votes to 16 abstentions to move to a committee system from next May. This is instead of the current cabinet system. The committee system means that all the political parties and all of the councillors are involved in the council decision making process. The will of the people is hopefully more democratically reflected rather than just one party having the power.

Louis Stephen said: "After a quite a bitter row last night I hope all parties will now positively come together to design the exact form of the committees."
